Say you went home for a while and came back. While you were gone, you did something that would really end up upsetting a friend here if he knew. How would you tell them about that?

What if he discovers later on that you've kept it from him? Do you think that won't cause a rift in your friendship? I know it isn't my place to comment on your friendship, but I know that lying will only cause more stress on both of you.

It kind of happens here sometimes. People fall asleep for a week or so, and when they wake up it's been who knows how long for them. Even though they're still here they just kind of live out their lives at home for a while.

Well, if you want my opinion.. the sooner you tell him, the better. I would never withhold information from my friends because I trust them.

It's not like I really enjoy doing it. I've been trying to find some way to tell him ever since I got back.

You could just say it outright.
